Pitching for NHS Frontline When Not playing Baseball for the Sheffield Bruins

After the recent announcement of the GB Women's Baseball Team and the Sheffield Bruins' Women's Team, our General Manager Kelly Wright and her twin sister Kirstie Wright have been featured by the Yorkshire Post.

Kirstie is a newly-qualified doctor who has been part of the NHS workforce employed to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, whilst Kelly is currently undergoing further study to transition from her PhD in Cardiovascular Science into clinical practice.

Their hard work appears to be paying off both off and on the baseball field, as they are hoping to be a part of the new national baseball team. If successful, the Rotherham-born sisters would mirror the success of rugby’s Tom and Ben Curry, athletics’ Nielsen sisters and the dynastic duo of footballer Phil Neville and his sister, netball’s Tracey Neville, by playing for Great Britain on the world stage.

The club wishes the women the best of luck!
